The Kill
what if i wanted to break
laugh it all off in your face
what would you do?
what if i fell to the floor
couldn't take all this anymore
what would you do?
i tried to be someone else
but nothing seemed to change
i know now, this is who i really am inside
falling from myself
falling for a chance
i know now, this is who i really am
kill
break me down
bury me, bury me
i am finished with you
look in my eyes
you're killing me, killing me
all I wanted was you

...high society.
i never knew realized how important etiquette is until today. of course it is important, but to fully grasp the importance of it, now, that's a skill. how people look at you when you seemingly act different from the others, the way you move, body language and eye contact. of course, i'm the subject involved here. i kinda pity the guy in a way but oh well.. i guess he deserved the looks and stares he received. there are just too many things to remember to do, so many things that it becomes a bother. but then again, it's a necessary evil i guess. eye contact, sitting posture, the words you exchange, the way you hold your glass and cutlery, the tone of your voice etc. god damn it, as plastique and fake as it is, i seem to like it. it differentiates the weak from the strong, those who are unable to blend in and those who do. and then again, there are different etiquette for different levels of people. well, mainly just two. those with power, and those without. those without (like me) have to behave in way where we will seem as if we're kissing the feet of those with power, and the former just behaves in the most obnoxious way. there are exceptions of course. exceptions of those people who 'think' they have power but do not and behave the same way like those with power, and those who hold the keys are well.. humble. i guess that's what makes them the powerful, the rich, the likeable, the famous. i can personally name a few who are obnoxious yet, run on empty. i guess it isn't just a few but these precious few just stand out like a sore thumb. sad isn't it? sometimes i just wish i could just tell me straight to their face that you ain't as powerful as you think you are, but then again, who wants to burn bridges? i guess the military did teach me one thing (actually not the military, but my former superior from the military. and i have to thank him for that) - never burn bridges. even if it means that the person is as fucked up as you wouldn't want him/her to be, it doesn't serve the purpose of burning that link... other than self gratification of course.
someday.. someday.. the dream is to make the news, frolick with the rich and famous and yet remain humble and remember your roots. someday, and that someday will be soon. i hope.
